Dentures (Complete and Partial)

What are dentures?

Dentures are a versatile treatment option for those who need several or all of their teeth replaced. Unlike dentures from fifty years ago, modern dentures are comfortable, reliable, and natural-looking. From full dentures to partial ones, we are proud to offer a wide variety of options!

What are the types of dentures?

Partial
If you have lost several teeth, but you still have a few healthy ones remaining, you may be a candidate for a partial. An impression of your mouth is taken to design prosthetic teeth to match the appearance of those you’ve lost to blend in with your natural smile. The prosthetics are attached to a gum-coloured base, which has a metal framework. This allows it to clip or clasp to your remaining teeth to hold it in place.
Complete
An entire arch of missing teeth is traditionally replaced with a full denture. We take an impression of your mouth to create a custom-fit acrylic base. Your prosthetic teeth are set into the base to mimic those you’ve lost. The arch is held to your gum tissue using suction or an adhesive. Now, dentistry innovations have improved the aesthetics and fit of a traditional denture, but if you’d prefer something more permanent, ask us about dental implants.

Do I Need Dentures?

If you are missing several or all of your teeth in a dental arch, you may need dentures. Thankfully, modern dentures are more secure and natural-looking than ever before. Dentures can enhance your smile and restore your ability to eat and speak normally.

If you are missing just one or two teeth, we may recommend another treatment. Implant-supported crowns and dental bridges are both excellent options for replacing only one or two teeth.

How should I clean my dentures?

We will give you detailed instructions for cleaning and storing your dentures. Dentures should be carefully brushed with a particular toothpaste, rinsed and stored in a water-based cleaning solution overnight.

How long will my denture last?

As long as you care for them properly, dentures should last between five and seven years. You should see our dentists yearly so we can check your dentures for any signs of problems.

If you wonder if dentures are the right restorative treatment for your case, don’t hesitate to call our office. Our friendly staff will be happy to answer your questions and help you with your concerns. We look forward to seeing you in our office!

Crowns and Bridges

Dental restorations like crowns and bridges are frequently used to help correct or replace teeth that have been compromised.

What are dental crowns?

Crowns are some of the most versatile dental treatment options available. We use dental crowns to replace teeth, restore severe tooth damage, strengthen weak teeth, and cosmetically enhance a person’s smile.

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps on top of damaged or broken teeth to restore shape, strength, function, and aesthetics. Crowns last a very long time, and you won’t even notice it’s in there!

What are dental bridges?

Dental bridges are an excellent and durable tooth replacement option. Using two supporting teeth, we can bridge the gap left by a missing tooth with a beautiful, natural-looking crown.

Bridges are used to fill the gap created by one or more teeth that are missing. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns that are on either side of the gap. Either dental implants or natural teeth can support bridges.
